8 different shapes of /8
Over the eight-year construction period from 1968 - 1976, the "dash eight" was delivered in different variants and modified externally.
The sedan, coupe and long-wheelbase versions as well as the chassis from which ambulances, hearses or station wagons were assembled by external companies were mainly produced ex works in Sindelfingen. The convertible was always an individual conversion based on a coupe and was not offered by various companies until the 1980s. The two pick-up variants were exported as so-called CKD vehicles ("Completely Knocked Down) as crates and were assembled in South America.
